In the Southwest corner of Missouri is the little town of Mt Vernon. Mt Vernon is home to a little more than 4500 people, it’s the county seat and it’s near the Old Spanish Fort Archeological site. And every year, the residents of this little town have an Apple Butter Makin’ festival.
Mt Vernon is also home to one of the 7 homes for veterans in Missouri. Established in 1983, the Mt Vernon Veterans home has room for 200 residents who were honorably discharged from military duty. Their service to our country may be over but they have many activities to keep them busy at the veterans home from bingo to shuffle board. They even take regular trips to visit their surrounding community.
Gabled solarium brings sunshine in
Crystal Structures was pleased to be a part of the addition to the veterans home with a gabled solarium. The glazed structure added space adjacent to the dining room for visiting and enjoying the sunshine. The structure is 24′ x 31′ and includes motorized sunshades. The glazing is a low-e which helps cut the harmful UV rays along with having a favorable heat gain / heat loss ratio. Learn more about our gabled solarium structures here.
