The Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia California has a long history dating back to the 1960’s – before the hospital was built or the community of Santa Clara was incorporated! Â In 1965, Newhall Land & Farming saw a need for a single community hospital in the area. Â Land was donated by Newhall and by 1970 a board of trustees was in place. Â The hospital officially opened in August 1975.
Fast forward to the 21st Century
The Henry Mayo Newhall campus now consists of 13 buildings.  The entire campus was designed to blend with the surrounding neighborhoods, matching the colors and styles of nearby commercial and retail establishments.  A new 80,000 sq foot office building on the site includes space for doctors, radiation department and the Valencia Pharmacy, one of the first tenants to sign.
Entering the new office building, guests are sheltered by a 40′ x 22′ glazed canopy by Crystal Structures.  The rear exit also features a 20′ x 7′ canopy. The canopies keep patients entering the complex from the rain or snow – so important when trying to stay healthy. Learn more about our glazed canopy systems here.
The architect on the project was SWA Architects, contractor was Intertex Companies.
Glazed canopies are featured under CSI code 10 73 16
